Your data never leaves your device. Emotion Wallet is built with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought.

What We Collect

Emotion Wallet accesses the following data, all of which stays on your device:

Heart Rate Data — Read from Apple HealthKit to detect emotional spikes that may indicate impulse purchasing behavior. We only check whether your heart rate is elevated above your resting baseline, not the exact number.
Resting Heart Rate — Used as a baseline to determine what constitutes an emotional spike for you personally.

What We Do NOT Collect

No bank account or credit card information
No purchase history or transaction data
No browsing or shopping history
No personal identification information
No location data
No contacts or phone data
No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs

AI Coaching

Emotion Wallet includes an optional AI coaching feature powered by the Claude API. When you interact with the AI coach:

Only generic, contextual prompts are sent to the API (e.g., "the user may be considering an impulse purchase")
No health data, heart rate values, purchase details, or personal information is ever sent
Your API key (if provided) is stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device
You can use the app without the AI coaching feature

Data Storage

All app data (settings, intervention history, streak data) is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and SwiftData). No data is synced to any cloud service or external server.

HealthKit Integration

Emotion Wallet requests read-only access to heart rate data through Apple HealthKit. We never write to or modify your health data. Heart rate monitoring is used solely to provide timely intervention suggestions when emotional spending patterns are detected. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time through iOS Settings.

Subscriptions

Emotion Wallet Pro subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to any payment information. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID account.

Third-Party Services

Emotion Wallet does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. The only external service used is the Claude API for AI coaching, which is optional and controlled by the user.

Children's Privacy

Emotion Wallet is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date and notify users through the app. Significant changes will require renewed consent where applicable.
